Files and Plugins
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005Designlink can handle many different file types, raster files (jpg, png, gif), Pdf, Shockwave and many more. Some files such as PDF’s require Plugins to view. Below is a list of supported file types and details about plugins if they are required to view them.
Raster Images
- jpg, jpeg - Supported by Web Browser
- NOTE: CMYK jpegs are a non standard jpeg format and most browsers will not display them.
- png - Supported by Web Browser
- gif - Supported by Web Browser
- pdf - Plugin Required Acrobat Reader
- Mac OSX Firefox/Mozilla users can use the Schubert|it Pdf Plugin
Shockwave and Flash
- swf - Plugin Required Flash Player
- dcr - Plugin Required Shockwave Player
Video
- Quicktime - Plugin Required Quicktime Player
- Mpeg - Plugin Required Quicktime Player or Media Player
- Avi - Plugin Required Quicktime Player or Media Player
- Wmv,Asf - Plugin Required Media Player
3d Formats
- edrw,easm,eprt - Plugin Required eDrawings
- Mac OSX users can view 3D files with the Mac Viewer
- Note: PC Firefox /Mozilla users can use edrawings via the Mozilla ActiveX Plug-in for mozilla browsers available here Mozilla ActiveX Plug-in Once installed to enable the eDrawings ActiveX Control you need to add the line below to the bottom of the file /defaults/pref/activex.js which can be edited with a text editor.

Office Documents
- Doc - ActiveX Required (PC only) and Word Viewer
- Word viewer is available for Macintosh but does not work as a browser plugin.
- Mac OSX Firefox/Mozilla users can use the Schubert|it Word Plugin
- Xls - ActiveX Required (PC only) and XL Viewer
